DIN formats according to ISO 216/ DIN 476

DIN formats are used all over the world. But some Central American countries and a group of states in North America better known as the USA wanted to do their own thing. There Letter, Legal or Ledger/ Tabloid are used.

DIN A0 corresponds approximately to the area of one square meter. In the fixed ratio of 1 : √2, all other formats below this are derived. See our following schematic:

Long DIN

Colloquially, several similar formats are grouped together as long DIN (DIN lang)

the standardized envelope formats 110 mm × 220 mm and 114 mm × 229 mm,
the standardized paper format in the size 99 mm × 210 mm – this corresponds to about ⅓ DIN A4,
the final or definitive format 105 mm × 210 mm – Standard for the folding of letterheads DIN A4
